$300 prizes will be distributed in the following categories
Work can be submitted by any individual or group within the geographical area permitted. Work must be original and cannot have been distributed commercially or sold.
- Game for Fun
- (a game in any digital medium, judged on how fun it is to play)
- Game for Programming
- (a game in any digital medium, judged on complexity of coding)
- Serious Game
- (a game realized in any digital medium, judged on message)
- Levels, Mods, and Machinima
- (projects that extend commercial game software)
- Game Design Document
- (text with accompanying figures, game and level art, etc.)
- 2D Gesture
- ( 2D animation)
- 3D Gesture
- (3D animation)
- Interactive Conversation
- (sponsored by Jellyvision)
- Sound With Eyes Open
- (computer music and interactivity with visuals)
- Interactive Narrative
- (judged on quality of narrative, immersion and ingenuity of interaction)
Submission deadline for the juried show: March 14
The submissions process has both online and snail-mail components. Entrants must:

Print out the online form acknowledgement

Attach the acknowledgement to your submission along with a check for $10 per submission. The submission fee is non refundable.

Deadline for receipt of submissions is 5 pm, March
14 extended to March 21, 2008. Submissions must be on an easily readable, standard format
(such as CD, DVD or VHS). This includes websites - We must have
a copy of the site on disc.
You will be notified via e-mail if your work has been accepted to the 2008 PlayExpo Accepted entries must provide all necessary equipment (laptop, speakers, software, etc.) to show their work. Work will be exhibited in the University Center on Saturday April 5 from 12-4.
